Re: How do I Manually focus my ASCOM focuser

Hi, The manual focus controls will be located in a section of the controls on the right-hand side headed 'scope controls'. You may need to expand this section. If the section is not present in the controls of the right then you may need to configure SharpCap to use your focuser in the hardware page ...

Re: sensor analysis doesn't work on qhy 294c

Hi, The problem here is that SharpCap is expecting the gain value on a qhy camera to be either a number of dB of gain (and a range from 0 to 50 or so) or the gain in tenths of the dB with a range of 0 to 500 or 600 or so. This is how things used to work, but it seems that with a lot of the new model...

Re: Using a QSI Camera

Hi, There is currently no way to switch SharpCap out of its default 'video camera' mode where it takes continuous images. I am aiming to introduce an alternative 'still camera' mode in the next major update of SharpCap. CMOS cameras tend to have fast readout and therefore work nicely in video camera...

Re: Another new user

Hi, I'm afraid that your combination of telescope and camera are not able to produce a full lunar disk image between them. The telescope will produce an image of the moon at its focal plane dash you can see this image if you put a piece of white card at the focal plane of the telescope in place of t...

Re: Problems with 64 bit beta

Thanks for taking the time to upload the data. Unfortunately I have no Internet connection at home at the moment , so I will be unable to look at it until that gets fixed. I'm currently reduced to answering forum posts using my phone :-(

Re: Sensor analysis Asi1600mc Pro

Hi, It's usually best to run the sensor analysis in both 8 bit and 16 bit mode. That allow sharpcap to have full knowledge of how the sensor works in both modes and give meaningful recommendations about which mode you should be in for a particular type of imaging. To be honest though, the usual rule...

Re: SharpCap compatibility with Apple devices

Hi,
Sharpcap only runs on Microsoft Windows. It is not compatible with iPhone or iPad at all. It can be made to run on Apple laptops only if you install Microsoft Windows using bootcamp.

Re: Null data on first frame of data

Hi Peter, It looks like you using a camera via a direct show driver, which means that SharpCap is just copying the data that came from the camera directly into the output file with no processing (actually, that's what happens to most types of camera). I suspect that what is happening is that the dev...

Re: Stacking Spectra with Sharpcap!

Hi Jim, Actually, that was pretty much what I needed to know – the fact that there is a single star means that in theory it would be possible for me to update the code to track a single star in the XY directions without worrying about field rotation. This could either be done by detecting a single s...

Re: Sensor analysis Asi1600mc Pro

Hi,

Yes, this can work with a filter in place providing that you can supply even illumination that doesn't vary during the 'light' parts of the process and cut off the illumination completely during the dark portions.
