moving to ASIAIR Plus - how to still use Sharpcap
I have an Celestron Nexstar 8SE scope now controlled by CPWI, and SharpCap. I use a ZWO ASI224 camera, a ZWO Filter Wheel, and a Celestron focus motor. Just acquired a ZWO ASM5 drive and an ASIAIR Plus controller. It seems that the ASIAIR Plus controller won't recognize the Celestron focus motor (by...

spiral search stops responding
After one or more Plate Solves, the Spiral Search button in Sharp Cap Pro stops responding. The Sharp Cap directional arrows still work for scope movement. When I close Sharp Cap and restart, the Spiral Search button regains its function. Controlling a Celestron 8SE using CPWI, Remote Desktop, All S...

Re: What's new in SharpCap this week... 2nd May 2022
Robin, I have ordered a 5-position mini filter wheel (EFW) from ZWO, which I plan to use with my ZWO ASI224 camera, now connected to a BeeLink computer on the telesope. Sharpcap sees ASI224 camera, focuser, ASPS, etc., now with no problems. I have downloaded the EFW drivers from ZWO, and they are no...

Re: Plate solving?
here is what Sharpcap shows on the Plate Solving tab when the mount is connected, aligned, and the camera is running. Manually configured Astrometry : Not configured AstroTortilla : Not found (binary path missing : C:\cygwin\bin) All Sky Plate Solver : Not found at C:\Users\yhfri\AppData\Local\Astro...

Re: Plate solving?
I have installed Astrotortilla with the files for the FOV of my Celestron 8SE. Astrotortilla recognizes my ASCOM mount through CPWI, and Sharpcap can move the mount. My camera is a ZWO ASI224, but Astrotortilla doesn't seem to recognize it no matter what I chose for Camera. Sharpcap recognizes the c...

QYH5III224 viewing daylight scene
In the course of becoming familiar with the procedures necessary for imaging with my QYH5III224 camera, I set it up viewing a daylight scene through my Celestron 8SE. Through trial and error, I found the 20mm eyepiece looking through a diagonal mirror could be replaced with the camera, and the image...

Success
SUCCESS! Switching to a MS Surface Book 2. with a USB 3.0 port instantly worked. I now see the QHY camera in the camera list. Your suggestion was exactly correct. Apparently a Samsung Galaxy Book 2 has USB-C ports not compatible with this camera. I can now proceed with tackling the other problems of...

Re: QHY5III224c Problems with 3.2
Yes, I downloaded the zipped file, extracted all the contents, and ran the Windows 10 executable. Indeed, I had to ignore Microsoft's warnings and select "Run Anyway". The result is still no listing of QHY cameras. When I plug the camera into the USB port of my Windows tablet, I hear the c...
