Re: AZ-EQ5 Polar Align help.
Make sure you turn off the ‘freedom find’ encoders if you’re using the Hand Controller for further functions. I drive my mount from a planetarium program so I always switch off the auxiliary encoders.

Re: AZ-EQ5 Polar Align help.
I also have an AZ-EQ5. When you have polar aligned then the mount is in the ‘home’ position whether or not you switch it off and on again. So it wouldn’t do any harm but shouldn’t make any difference.

Re: Live stack of folder contents
Hi Duncan, I personally use Astroberry on a RPi4 controlled through VNC Viewer on my laptop. I live stack the captured images by collecting them using the file transfer function in VNC, and then pointing Sharpcap to the folder on the laptop. Great for a quick stack and save to jpeg to have something...

Re: ZWO ASI533 MC Pro - Optimum Exposure Time ?
Hi @KEJ - have you tried carrying out a sensor analysis on your 533? I measured mine and the unity gain measured 111.

Fine control of the Live Stacking Histogram
I have just discovered (stumbled across?) the fine control of the sliders in the colour balance area. After clicking on a particular colour slider, I find it responds with very fine control using the up/down cursor keys. This has allowed me to make very pleasing interim stack results which I save 'A...

Re: Histogram controls
You are quite right - I had thought to try a two identical copy stack earlier on, however it seems I was/am trying to work with a 32 bit .fits file rather than 16 bit and it didn't work. However, following your post I tried the stack of two copy images of a 16 bit .fits file and that did provide the...

Histogram controls
I have recently discovered that the controls of the Live Stacking histogram are very powerful and and especially offer impressive fine control of the RGB sliders. The Auto stretch and Auto colour balance usually provide a good starting point for some tweaking but this tweaking often makes a very qui...

Re: Images stacked in random order
Hi Robin, So I checked this out with 18 images captured last night. My capture rig processor is a 'headless' Raspberry Pi 4 running Astroberry Server (Astroberry.io) of whose collections of applications I am using KStars/Ekos/Indi. I control the capture using a Windows laptop via VNC Viewer. At vari...
