Re: Meridian flip during eclipse?

Hmmm, this post has me wondering. I was looking at the timing in Starry Night and it shows that totality starts about 16 minutes after I'd need to do a meridian flip. I had my location set for Lake Fork, TX. I would assume there will be a few minutes difference for the start of totality based on loc...

Re: ZWO 2600mc pro problems!

Hello Chuck, Thanks again for your comments and dually noted! I have already unplugged everything so that only the camera is plugged into the usb hub. I need to see if I have a 15’ usb 3 cable and if I do I’ll be doing a test with that. Problem is I only have so much room and have to work within my...

Re: ZWO 2600mc pro problems!

Hello Chuck, Thank you for your response! So just to clarify a few things on my end to start, I’m somewhat simplified in the fact that I only have 1 cable going to my laptop and that is the USB3 repeater cable. I run all my cameras with a talent cell ion lithium battery. I’ve. Used this with my 294...

Re: ZWO 2600mc pro problems!

Hi Dale, I have a 2600MC, and it works with a much less powerful laptop than yours. (i5 cpu, 8GB RAM) So I would suspect your laptop is good. So, to do a proper diagnosis you will need to simplify your setup as much as possible. Don't worry, I'm not suggesting you have to run your setup simplified, ...

Re: How do I plate solve correctly?

Just curious, I don't own a Starsense so I don't know, but does the Starsense camera show up as a camera on your computer that Sharpcap could use? The specs say it uses an MT9M034 sensor, which is what the QHYCCD 5L-IIM use I think. So I'd suspect a driver exists that should work with it, unless Cel...

Re: iOptron AEF focuser ?

You may have already checked this, but is your firmware up to date? I recall seeing a comment on the iOptron site where a user had a similar issue as you describe and a firmware update solved it. Worth a look at least.

Good luck.

Re: Live stack reset after 60 seconds being shut down.

Hi Robin, Could you possibly check to see if the stack is paused when it is closed, and if so return to the paused state when re-opened? This is how I've done things in the past, pause the stack, switch away from live stacking, do my focus and re-center activities, then return to live stack and un-p...

Re: Zwo ASI585MC > DSLR lens

ZWO makes an adapter that will work for your 135. https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/product/eos-t2-%e2%85%a1-adapter-suitable-for-all-asi-cameras/ I have the earlier version of the adapter and it has worked well. Chuck P.S. - Just to give you an idea of what you'd need for the 200mm, here are a f...

Re: Zwo ASI585MC > Takumar 200mm F/4

I don't have that lens specifically, but I have mounted many camera lenses to various astro cams. The key is to know for which camera the lens was originally intended. Each camera has a specific lens flange-focal distance, meaning the spacing between the flange at the back of the lens and the focal ...

Re: Feature Request- Automatic Mosiac

For deep sky objects, perhaps using a website to plan the mosaic, and then importing the info to Sharpcap would be less of a burden on Robin to program. A site like https://ruuth.xyz/AstroMosaic.html will let a user plan a mosaic and then you can take the info it provides and enter it into a text fi...
