Re: Live Stack needs another option
Thanks for the quick response. I've downloaded 4.1 to try. The more I think about the issue, the more I feel that since there is the option to pause/resume while doing livestacking, there really isn't a great reason as far as I can see, not to flush the stack when clicking the livestack button to st...

Live Stack needs another option
I find it confusing to use livestack on a target, leave the mode by clicking the livestack button, and then when I move on to a new object and set a new target name, to encounter a dialog asking whether I want to rename all existing frames in the stack with the new target name. I can see why it migh...

Re: "Disappearing" Frames
Yes I am trying to feed 4 signals into a 4-port hub because my Microsoft Surface has only 1 usb port!
I might have to dust off my old laptop and split the load between the MS Surface and the laptop.

Re: "Disappearing" Frames
I'm also encountering this issue. I'm using a ZWO 183MC. What happens is my system gets into states where frames start (as indicated by the green progress bar) but never finish - they simply restart. I think there is also a race condition between the PHD2 guider and the imaging camera - when the gui...

Re: ZWO camera stops working
I have used a hub (either a USB hub or a USB Ethernet Extender which has a hub at the remote end.) Since I only have one USB port on my Microsoft Surface I have to do it this way, but even if I had multiple ports on my laptop, I wouldn't want to run multiple USB extenders out to my telescope. I stil...

Re: ZWO camera stops working
I will also note the following which might be useful clues: a. SharpCap image grabbing resumes if I turn off the guide camera b. If the guide camera is turned on after SharpCap long exposure image collection is started, things seem to work better, c. Frame dropping is worse when trying to focus with...

Re: Debayer changes with flip?
Always being happy to talk to myself, I will respond to my own question in case others might benefit. Apparently this is indeed the case; using Flip will change the debayer patten. Here's a OneNote sketch of how the different patterns respond to horizontal and vertical and 'both' flips. (I think th...

Debayer changes with flip?
Recently I have been using 'flip both' so the captured image has the same orientation as my Cartes du Ciel display. In trying to understand some very muddy colors coming from my ZWO ASI 183MC I found an internet comment where the author claimed that flipping changes the debayer pattern. Is that corr...

Re: ZWO camera stops working
I encounter this issue and it seems related to my USB connections/wiring/hub setup. Avoid using USB extension cables. I also find that starting SharpCap before starting the autoguider system seems to help. I have started using a USB Ethernet Extender and it works great - it's basically a one cable e...

Re: ZWO ASI 183MC stopped working after upgrade
[In case others might find it helpful...] I did some research into the USB technology and apparently it is unreliable over lengths greater then about 5m (15ft), so my strategy of simply daisy-chaining USB extenders to provide my desired 15 - 20 ft reach was not good. Also, it is a busy connection - ...
