Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis Issue
As near as I can figure out, the QHY installer will install copies of the .DLL into specific directories (such as the ASCOM drivers, SharpCap, etc). Installing/Re-installing SharpCap after the QHY updater has done it's thing will copy the SharpCap specific QHY .DLL into the SharpCap directory only. ...

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis Issue
Well, I got it to work in the 14 Bit mode. It does make a difference the order for installing updates as SharpCap has a specific SDK version for the QHY cameras that is installed when SharpCap is installed. So, my suggestion is to update the QHY SDK's first using their tool. Next, install/re-install...

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis Issue
So, I updated to the latest version of SharpCap (3.2.6433.0) and also upgraded the QHY SDK to their latest version. Good news is that I can muddle my way through the sensor analysis - but only in the RAW8 color mode. When I try the analysis at RAW16, the very first readings (e/ADU) are charted all o...

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis Issue
Thank you for your reply. I don't envy you trying to keep all the different manufacturers/cameras straight with their inevitable different development practices (sounds like QHY might have autonomous development groups for each camera). Oh well.
I'll try again when SharpCap 3.3 is available.

QHY294C - Sensor Analysis Issue
I've been trying to run the Sensor Analysis tool on Sharpcap for my QHY294C camera and have had mixed results. If I run the tool with the Colour Space set at RAW8, I do get expected results. However, when I run the tool with the Colour Space set at RAW16, I am not getting any results that resemble t...

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis
Hi Robin, I decided to give it one more try - this time outside with the scope pointed at the grey, cloudy sky in Seattle. The analysis worked, but only once. The results are attached. Please let me know if you see anything "weird" with them. I'll try and re-run the test after the holidays...

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis
Hi Robin,
I didn't see anything "weird" between 350ms and 360ms. I dragged the slider through the range and also manually stepped it up by typing in the exposure in increments of 1. In all cases, there was the short pulse of light and then it would settle down.
Thanks,
Greg

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis
Hi Robin, There definitely seem to be jumps in brightness as I drag the Exposure slider to the right of 60ms. Up until about 60ms, the increase in brightness is pretty steady and the histogram follows along. The brightness spike is very brief jump and the histogram moves about pretty wildly for a mo...

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis
Hi, What are your thoughts on the former (camera not changing exposure lengths)? Is that something I could test somehow or could it be driver related? Do you know of any QHY diagnostic routines? As for the possibility of light from the monitor, the setup I'm using is a white t-shirt over the telesco...

Re: QHY294C - Sensor Analysis
Hi Robin,
I've attached the actual log file to this reply. You'll find where the Sensor Analysis gives up (literally) towards the end of the file.
Thanks,
Greg
