Re: GPCAM2 290C Dropping Frames
It's interesting to see that this problem is being reported by several other people with a similar set up (GPCAM 290C, modern Laptop, windows 10). At one point I thought it was only me. The only solution (and believe me I have tried everything ) is to disable "CPU C-States" in the Laptop B...

Re: GPCAM2 290C Dropping Frames
Hi, So a bit of an update. Using a USB2 hub didn't fix the problem. However, it looks like the guys at Altair have identified the cause of the problem and I have a workaround (if not a perfect fix) and this info may help others if they have the same problem. For me, it appears that this camera (or p...

Re: GPCAM2 290C Dropping Frames
Thanks Robin,
That is about the only thing I haven't tried!
I'll get hold of a cheap USB2 hub and give it a go.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: GPCAM2 290C Dropping Frames
I have tried many combinations of Laptop, cable, port, software (de-install / re-install / even fresh windows), I even bought a brand new Laptop. So in desperation I dug out an ancient Laptop that only supports USB2. And guess what - it works! So this leaves me in a bizarre situation where I have a ...

Re: GPCAM2 290C Dropping Frames
Hi Robin, It's the USB2 version. I'm also baffled. And also tested NINA and AltairCapture which do the same, so it isn't a specific SharpCap problem - but I was hoping that the person who posted the initial message on this thread might have found a solution as they seemed to be describing the exact ...

Re: GPCAM2 290C Dropping Frames
Hi Dave, Believe me, I've tried exactly what you have suggested many times, with many different cables, USB settings, etc. It is always the same - my 290C does not work (and this is a replacement camera when the first had the same problem) - BUT my 183C works perfectly, no dropped frames, no slowdow...

Re: GPCAM2 290C Dropping Frames
Hi, I know it's been quite a while since this post was last updated but I wondered if anyone had found a solution. I have a GPCAM2 290C and I'm seeing the same symptoms. Tried 2 Laptops, multiple cables, with/without hubs, multiple versions of SharpCap (and AltairCapture) etc etc. Always the same sy...

Re: Altair 290C not connecting in SharpCap
Update
All looks good!
Tried latest version 3.2.6097 on both my Laptops and my Altair GPCAM 290C is now correctly detected and seems to be working fine on both.
Thanks for a very speedy fix.

Re: Altair 290C not connecting in SharpCap
I appreciate that this issue might already be under investigation but just thought I would report very similar symptoms on 2 different Win10 Laptops using SharpCap 3.2 and my Altair GPCAM 290C. On both Laptops, all versions up and including 3.2.6038 work perfectly ok. All versions 3.2.6051 and later...
