Re: Mini-Histogram Stretch Button
Oh that's interesting. I never considered the effects of stretching making a difference to the shape or position of the histo curve. I've always just played with the color balance. So I guess what you're saying is that if you do a stretch on the display histo, then the live stack histo should march...

Re: Mini-Histogram Stretch Button
+1 on this request, or anything that could make the Mini Display Histogram more readable. It's my favorite tool for fine tuning the color balance: as the livestacked image is already stretched, the "Mini" will readily show any color imbalance there may be on the sky background, which is a ...

Brightness-dependent controls and enhancements
This may sound mysterious, but hopefully quite useful! Sharpcap's Livestack has those simple (yet nice) enhancements that one can use to further improve signal detail (or, on the contrary, blur to lower the noise). Alas, most of them apply to the whole signal no matter what. For example, sharpening ...

Re: New Feature : Background Subtraction
Robin, There are two problems actually: 1- as your screenshot shows, the histogram is then highly restricted in dynamic range. This makes for very difficult black-mid-white levels adjustments, event with the shift-key modifier (or was it ctrl). Well, I hear myself say, there's always the Auto Stretc...

Re: New Feature : Background Subtraction
Hi Robin,
just checked with the latest public v4.0 release, I can confirm the problem is there with or without darks/flats.

Re: New Feature : Background Subtraction
Robin,
Here are some (bad, I'm afraid) raw frames I shot recently

Do you need the matching master dark / flat?

Re: New Feature : Background Subtraction
I tested this feature with a recent 7928 beta (not the final release I'm afraid, so it may have been fixed in the mean time) and can report the same behavior with a histogram peak that gets highly "compressed" in dynamics. I was using quite short subs (8s) because of the severe LP from my ...

Re: Flat generation subtracting dark flat
Sanjeev, as far as I understand, the option is already there (albeit not advertised in the documentation): if we're capturing flats while dark frame subtraction is on, each and every flat has the master dark subtracted before it is emplaced "on the stack". Unless I got it totally wrong, th...
