Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
I FINALLY got an opportunity to have some clear skies to actually get out and try this, and as others have already said, it works just fine. Robin, I find that if I use either a one or two second exposure, SharpCap keeps telling me that it can't solve the plate, but if I back off to about 4 seconds,...

Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
Robin, again, spoiled by thunderstorms.
Have you added this 'repair' to either one of the last two builds? I haven't downloaded the latest one yet. I should go do that, but I haven't had time to play with it yet.

Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
I still haven't had a cloudless night, which for this time of year isn't that unusual for the Pacific Northwest of the U.S., but I'm pretty sure that the beta release is going to work well, Robin. I'm sorry I just haven't had the ability to test it for you on the Polar Alignment.

Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
Remind me not to buy a ZWO 120 then! Robin, the Beta seems to work well. With the Options button selected, the ASCOM Gain setting comes up, and I can adjust the gain. Your warning dialog opens, click okay, and then it takes me back to the screen where the gain changes. The gain is not saved on shut ...

Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
Robin,
I apologize for taking so long to get to this, I've had other things going on. I'll download the new beta tomorrow and attempt to see what I can do with it.

Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
Robin, You are correct that the Options menu fails with the ASCOM drivers. However, there are only two options there, one is Camera Gain and the other is Noise Reduction. I've tried three times and it's failed all three times. I'm using 1/1000th of a second exposure times for daylight, and it's stil...

Re: Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
I'll see what I can do for you, Robin. Right now, here in the Pacific Northwest, we're still in the rainy season, so all of my testing is done indoors. I'm sorry I can't get out, but with clouds and rain, it just doesn't work well!

Orion Starshoot AutoGuider
I'm using the Orion SSAG, and while you a warning that it doesn't work, it's worked flawlessly for me. I think I'm using the standard Orion driver for the camera, I don't recall that I downloaded an ASCOM driver for it. I get 1280x1024 resolution, monochrome of course, and frame rates up to about 5 ...
