Re: Focuser position

Thanks for getting back. To clarify I was using the latest v3.2 with camera, focuser and filter wheel simulation. I've not used SharpCap for some time in a non-simulated environment but am planning a rare trip to our group's observatory this weekend when I'll install v4. Thanks again, Jesse

Focuser position

Suggesting the focuser position be included when writing the FITS header (e.g. Maxim DL FOCUSPOS) and/or the CameraSettings.txt when capturing video. While I'm on a posting roll here maybe rename to DeviceSettings and include more properties of the focuser and filter wheel since the .ser format is s...

Re: Classroom use

For the record I plan to purchase the Pro license for use in our observatory with our high speed imaging hardware. That effort is independent of the classroom use. Thanks again, Jesse

Classroom use

Can I get permission to install SharpCap on about 15 lab computers for the community college class I'm teaching? I'd like the students to run an exercise or two using the built in device simulators. (I wish I could pay but I'm but a humble adjunct who had to buy his own white board markers :) Thanks...

No AVI option when selecting an ASCOM camera

Why isn't there an option (v3906) to save in AVI format when I select an ASCOM camera?

Re: Headers for GPS Information

Fractional seconds are included in the FITS standard. For fractional second exposure times, any parser should expect them in the FITS header. V 3.0 (18 Nov 2010) Sect. 4.4.2.1 states: The decimal part of the seconds field is optional and may be arbitrarily long, so long as it is consistent with the ...

Re: Hardware information

Thank you for getting back. Since SharpCap is additionally able to connect to an ASCOM mount, filter wheel and focuser I'm interested in the keywords for those devices. I've attached a csv file that lists SBIGFITS and/or MaxIm DL defined keywords as well as the relevant ASCOM property and descriptio...

Hardware information

Our group is evaluating SharpCap. Any chance of saving hardware states in the information file? There are several standard-ish keywords in the FITS header (e.g. http://diffractionlimited.com/sbig-fits-extensions-sbigfitsext-1-0/) that give a clue what I'm referring to, and if FITS was selected you s...
