Re: Could cone error cause problems with meridian flips (and could ConeSharp fix this?)

Thank you Robin. I already have delays built in via APT - five minutes before the meridian and 10 minutes after. This would make it a very large cone error though, I suppose? I could also change the limits in EQMOD but I don't want to turn them off because I know they've stopped my scope from hittin...

Could cone error cause problems with meridian flips (and could ConeSharp fix this?)

Hi, I've been experiencing failures with automated meridian flips recently in APT via EQMOD, driving an NEQ6. The mount goes to one side, an image is taken, solved, calculated to be about 6,000 pixels out, and then the mount slews right across to the other side, and repeat until the number of attemp...

Re: Sensor analysis failing

Thanks Robin. I'm running v3.2.6442. I haven't restarted the sensor analysis yet, but I thought you might need to know that when I tried installing the 3.3 beta, first of all AVG antivirus did not like it at all, and the install showed an error. The log said something about not being able to open a ...

Sensor analysis failing

Hi, I've tried to get this to work a few times on my EOS1000D running the open ASCOM drivers. I'm having the same issues described here: https://forums.sharpcap.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2997 - either it fails because the image is too dark (towards the beginning of the analysis) or it's too light (about...

Re: Polar alignment - should I see this?

Thank you Robin - but I'm not actually guiding. This is from my camera. Does that make any difference?

Polar alignment - should I see this?

Hi, So I've been getting to grips with polar alignment. Tonight, I got the best yet, really close to perfect. Then, out of curiosity, I set my scope to the home position, took a shot, plate solved it, and sent the result to Stellarium. This is what I saw: polar copy.jpg Polaris is only just about in...

Re: Polar alignment not even close

Excellent suggestions, thanks Robin. I found the troubleshooting page that I think your previous reply was based on so I will be going through that first. Thanks again.

Re: Polar alignment not even close

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I really appreciate it. Robin, I will go through your recommendations when the clouds next part which, in the UK, will probably be around November 2021 at this rate... When I say WAY out for the polar alignment, I mean that, after going through the routine, then ...
