Re: Settings for Planetary Imaging - ASI1788MM
Thanks folks, I've been doing planetary for a long time now, with webcams and then an ASI120MC. I experimented with mono using a Toupcam but struggled with settings. There are some useful tips in those links, especially about histogram settings for different targets. I really struggled to get a good...

Settings for Planetary Imaging - ASI1788MM
I have just come by an ASI178MM and I am struggling to decide what the best settings are. The recommended 'lowest read noise' settings are high values for gain and brightness/offset. I found the high brightness just made everything very noisy, and in the end used high gain, minimal brightness and a ...

Warm up camera button
This should be an easy one to do, as it is in the sequencer. For the end of the evening could we have a simple button to initiate the steady warm up of the camera rather than just turning off the cooling? Ideally, this would not affect the default status of the camera, so you can expect it to starts...

Re: Behaviour on Exposure Change Has Changed
Hi Robin,
Major update (but not minor ones) result in it 'forgetting' the names of the filters, but not the device.

Re: Behaviour on Exposure Change Has Changed
Phew! Thanks.
Before I install it, is there a way I can force Sharpcap to remember my filter wheel details? Whenever I install a new version, it loses them.

Behaviour on Exposure Change Has Changed
In the past the behaviour of Sharpcap (at least with my ZWO cameras) when reducing exposure length was to end the current frame, and start the next frame at the new duration. Nowadays I find it always completes the current exposure in full. When trying to change between 2.5 minute exposures and 4.9 ...

Re: Overcorrecting Flats
Thanks for the advice folks, it looks like letting DSS do the stacking of the flats is the answer.
