ASI2600MC-Pro not possible to save capture

Hi Robin, I got my new ASI2600MC-Pro camera last Saturday and started building the dark library. What I discovered is that it could not safe the intermediate files. I than tried to just do a snapshot and that also did not work. I added the log file for you. What is interesting is that when I use the...

Re: Timing of the dither commands

Thanks Robin, I will give that a try next time, it's the same as PI's sigma integration routine. As for the last comment on the topic related to the 32bits saving. I added a comment after you had posted an explanation. In the 32bit version there seems to be an offset of 0.5 in the resulting file. An...

Re: Timing of the dither commands

Hi Robin, Thanks for the answer, I'm not trying to find bugs by using the system in an awkward way, it was just that it is strange that after the first frame of 60S the dither counter did not go down by 60S but with some other number. That is all. And I do use it like this a lot, for me I want to sa...

Timing of the dither commands

Good day Robin, I'm using version V4.0.7572 (64bit) of SharpCap. I noticed the following: When you use a exposure time of 60S and you save the live-stack each 3 minutes (180S) and you ask for a dither each 120S, then there will be no dithering happening at all. When you look at the 3 screenshots you...

Re: Issue with FITS file generated during Live Stacking

Hi, the standard live stacking algorithm will saturate at pixel value of 2^31, since it tracks negative pixel values too. For technical reasons that actually means that you need 65536 frames to saturate, which is probably unlikely! If you save as 16 bit stack, the data is scaled, so no clipping, ju...

Re: Issue with FITS file generated during Live Stacking

Good to know Robin, will test it on Monday when the forecast is OK. Brings me to a question. When you use the 32 bits FITS format, does it mean that when you de the stacking and the integrated values saturate at 2^16 it will now saturate at 2^32? Meaning for long integrated stacks the 32 bit should ...

admin wrote: Thu Mar 04, 2021 7:43 pm Ok, that's good - I think I have a potential fix for next week's update - would be grateful if you could test it if you get a chance to check it fixes the problem for you.

Was this already done? Just so I know I can test it...
