Re: SharpCap Pro - New Pricing April 2024
For what this package of tricks gives, way way under-priced when one considers the costs of mounts/telescopes/cameras etc...

Re: Solar Mosaic - Feedback
Cak Mosaics.
6 frame mosaic using a Altair 178mm missed the bottom of the disc.
4 frame mosaic using an Apollo Mini is OK (and better focused )
Moral so far is the higher the number of frames in the mosaic the more likely I am to lose part of the disc.
Something learnt today.....

Re: Focusing
Hi Robin, I tried again this morning on the Mosaics (other thread on feedback). All 'scopes are refractors. All have motorised focusers. Only on the Fourier did the square migrate up and left - away from my chosen sunspot and into a quiet area of the disc. It almost seemed that square was anchored t...

Re: Solar Mosaic - Feedback
Hi Robin, Yes, to the reticle, keep it on whilst the frames are being captured, close on completion. On my Ha something went 'wrong' with the bottom two corners in that there's 2 sections of the rim missing - sadly (10 images in the stitch on camera full frame), because it looks an otherwise good mo...

Solar Mosaic - Feedback
- The Automatic Align (experimental tool). Used this morning on 3 different scopes to produce Mosaics - the auto find edge worked perfectly at f11 (CaK), f9 (WL) and f33 (Quark Ha). Cloud interruptions not withstanding they all ran nicely. Will report back when data analysed, but I like it better th...

Focusing
Still not got the hang of this - but then perhaps the Sun isn't the best of target. I deliberately set focuser just out of focus on the negative side - so it scans positive - with an overshoot of 200. First try was edge detection using the whole sun - said it had found focus, but no way - too far po...

Re: Feature Tracking Tool
@Robin - Tracking is, generally Solar, but it's easy to forget to double check.... Best thing for me is probably to strip back both mounts and start a-fresh (whilst cloud's the theme for the next few days) That's both mounts and 4 scopes stripped back to the tripods, and returned, balanced and 'pol...

Re: Manual Focus - mororised focuser attached
Cheers Robin.
Just a wonder, though, if it might interfere with some of the programming behind the backlash settings? I, currently, use overstep.

Re: Manual Focus - mororised focuser attached
Thanks Robin - how about using a pair of the existing buttons, difference between mouse click and mouse hold (for at least a second). And/or option switch in settings.
