Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
Looking forward to seeing what’s improved. Yes, having all the controls in one place and seeing the effects live helps a lot, as well as the fineness of each control. The focal length for that December 2020 session was set to see both Jupiter and Saturn simultaneously in a 1-deg FOV. So the availabl...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
Thank you both for envisioning and creating this planetary livestack capability. I ran my SER file from the December 2020 Jupiter Saturn conjunction and it looks slightly better than my extensively post-processed version. If only I had this software feature then, but I’m looking forward to planetary...

Re: Zigzag Hot Pixels
Thanks Robin - so for the No tracking case the more separated hot pixels blend in with the background stars. It would take quite a “Where’s Waldo” search to find them in the midst of all the stars.

Re: Zigzag Hot Pixels
I always understood the colored squiggles to be hot pixels not corrected by dark frames but the last couple weeks of imaging have me scratching my head a bit. Sharing in this thread for thoughts. 1. My ASI294MC pro camera has very low dark current. 2. Imaging Comet ZTF the past few weeks using Sharp...

Re: C/2022 E3 ZTF - ASI678MC - Not getting color
Wonderful!
And useful for us all to learn that this could affect color. I assumed that with the images shown the black and mid levels were in reasonable positions. Good to know this can affect color too. You are on a great track to some excellent images.

Re: C/2022 E3 ZTF - ASI678MC - Not getting color
A couple more thoughts from my short history: 1. I usually see less visual color saturation on the monitor screen during deep sky livestack compared to the saved stacked image. A. What do you observe if you increase just one of the color sliders at the bottom of the livestack display? For sure if th...

At this point In troubleshooting I would re-install the camera driver.

Re: C/2022 E3 ZTF - ASI678MC - Not getting color
Hello, Looking at the top image there is color but too strong in red and blue. You can see the purplish red colors on the preview and the green histogram is well below the red and blue histograms. If you select “zoom” you will get a more spread out histogram at the bottom and these items will be eve...

Re: New comet tracking feature C/2022 E3 (ZTF) Scottsdale, AZ
No tracking either- simple tripod mount. Used SharpCap livestack to follow the moving field without tracking. That also ends up cropping the image but with wide field and 5 minutes total time I still get about 70% of the total frame. Additional cropping to 50% size to meet <1 MB posting requirements.
