Re: Uniform image drift while guiding - how does it occur?
Success... on the flexure issue anyway. Still have a little flexing, but much more manageable. Now on to reducing my RMS error on the RA. I can still see it, but much less. Also, the atmospheric dispersion is having an effect as well. [https://www.cloudynights.com/gallery/image/147782-stack-35frames...

Re: Uniform image drift while guiding - how does it occur?
Thanks Robin. Your comments got me hunting for flexure and I think I figured this out. I'll find out tonight, hopefully. I found a particular flex point only on my imager that happens to align with my RA axis when DEC is pointing due E or W. So a couple of things I've learned (or remembered): 1 - Fl...

Uniform image drift while guiding - how does it occur?
I've gone from a piggyback arrangement for my guide scope and image scope to an asymmetric side-by-side set up. I'm still working through the transition, but have noticed that I'm getting longer hot pixel trails in my stack that seem to be completely aligned with my RA. Also, I believe I'm getting m...

Re: Nebula Photos on Superbowl Sunday
Thanks Nick.
All those targets and crummy winter weather! We had sort of a false Spring here this week and a few really nice days. Now winter is back with a vengeance.
I checked out your Rosette nebula photo... great detail in there giving it a lot of depth - nice!

Nebula Photos on Superbowl Sunday
Instead of watching the same old Superbowl, I took my 80mm APO out for first light. Got it for Christmas, but this was the first night with good weather! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1pX5kaHtL5vrIPfseap0GcNlBNJBiwElZ These were taken near Hiram, GA in the US (N33d50m, W84d50m) using SharpCap 3.2...

Re: ZWO ASI385 Highspeed Frame Drops
Hi Robin, That makes sense... The ASICAP version I'm using is v1.5 released on 11/15/2018... However I don't think it showed up on their website until early December. They've added a histogram and probably a few fixes. By the way, I hope your recovery went well last month and happy Holidays! Thanks!...

Re: ZWO ASI385 Highspeed Frame Drops
If it is a poor USB communication issue, wouldn't I also have the same issue with ASICAP (the ZWO capture software)? On the same computer with the same cables, I don't seem to have the issue with the camera in ASICAP. Of course ASICAP is not as capable as SharpCap, so it is less taxing on the CPU, b...

Re: ZWO ASI385 Highspeed Frame Drops
Hi Robin, Thanks for responding. I've tried adjusting the turbo USB settings to very low, auto, etc..., but no luck fixing the problem. What I really find strange is that it functions completely normal in RAW16 mode, but not RAW8... of course the high speed frame rate option is only available in RAW...

Re: WiFi Camera Connection
Hi John,
Thanks!... I believe that would do the trick.
I never heard of the "Compute Stick" before now, but very cool!

ZWO ASI385 Highspeed Frame Drops
Hi Guys, I'm having an issue trying to use my ASI385 camera in highspeed mode in the most recent Sharpcap 3.2. The camera works fine in the RAW16 color space with frame speeds up to 65 fps using the full sensor ROI... essentially no dropped frames. When I switch to the RAW8 color space (which is req...
