Thanks! The stacking worked fine when I used PIPP to debayer. But I also redid the stack using the original RAW frames with "Debayer Preview" set to RGGB and the saved stack was in colour. The results for the two methods looked similar - is there an advantage of one way or the other?

Different colour space in saved images from stack
I have an ZWO ASI294MC Pro colour camera and have been saving stacked images with the aim restacking them later, while playing with different parameters. The colour space was set to RAW16 during capture, and the saved live stack (as a 16 bit TIF) was in colour. However, when I open the rawframe TIF ...

Re: Sharpcap can't find Astrotortilla
There was no 'solve-field' on the computer. I noticed that the cygwin setup file log has numerous error messages (which I can't interpret).
I realize that this is out of the realm of SharpCap, but I've attached the log.
Thanks, Paul

Re: What is "brightness" ??
Does using the Brain function to measure sky brightness automatically adjust the brightness level?

Re: Drastic drop in FPS
I had a similar problem that turned out to be for a trivial reason. I was using Dropbox and my home network eventually couldn't keep up with the uploads. I now pause the sync to Dropbox when capturing images.

Re: Brain function
I just had a look at the manual, and I now see my mistake: under "sky brightness" I didn't change the box for "or use a value of" and left it at the default.
Thanks, Paul

Re: Brain function
I again used the brain function a few nights ago, and it again gave exactly the same results as last month: 1 second exposure at 380 gain. Is this typical, that the values will show little or no change for the same equipment/location?

Brain function
The other night, I used the brain function to calculate optimal exposure near three different targets, and each time it generated exactly the same numbers. Is this typical, that sky glow doesn't vary on the same night (all three objects were in the same sky quadrant). I had previously done the senso...
