Re: Live Stacks vs The Moon April 15 & 16 2019

Very impressive had two reasonable nights in the UK Sat / Sun so feeling a little tired this morning early night tonight as back to work tomorrow as sleeping at the desk could be an issue. :D

Re: planner for programmed poses

Hi,
At the moment you have to do them yourself manually but I believe Robin is looking at automating this in a future release. I am sure he will be along to confirm/deny this at some point .

Re: Saving the camera settings in livestacking

You can do most of this in the name of the files as I set up the raw frames naming convention to add the filter exposure gain offset etc as part of the filename an example of one of my frame names would be as below is this the type of thing you are after. The overall folder is named as per the objec...

Re: Leo Triplet

Thanks for the coment, the next target if the weather ever improves is Markarians chain which I have never imaged as a whole which should be fun.

Leo Triplet

Had a quick session back on the 28th March just got round to processing them all taken using the brain function to calculate optimum but then adjusting to the nearest calibration frames that I had in my library. Calibration set at unity but have watched the second video by robin will try max dynamic...

Re: First attempt at the Moon

Hi Dave, Thanks for the link I am not really that into lunar / planetary imaging just though as it was our nearest neighbour I had better give it a poke with the telescope. Also it is a good ongoing project if the weather is not great as I only need 15 minutes to get setup and image it and then put ...

Brain function - User constraints

Hi Robin I have started using the brain function to calculate the optimum exposure gain brightness/black level. However I have a large library of Darks + other calibration frames for bias, etc that I use and the issue with the brain function is that it proposes basically new exposure times, gain set...

First attempt at the Moon

Having had cameras and telescopes for the past two and a half years this is actually the first time I have imaged the moon. The plan is to get various stages and then combine them into one image as a progression that we will then print and frame. Imaged with APM-LZOS 130/780 with native F6 and flatt...
