Re: What's your secret sauce ?
Thanks for the reply I did not run a bracketing sequence - I started the sequence using auto exposure, which severely over exposed the images - 250 ms or so.. SO during the initial part of the partial phase I fiddled with exposure to find something that would work for the partial phase and redid the...

What's your secret sauce ?
While imaging the recent eclipse i ran into some issues. My rig consisted of a ZWO ASI294 on a ZWO AM3 mount. scope was Tak60cb. SharpCap was running on an I7 NUC. I was running "remotely" using windows RDP on an iPad. During the event, I did several screen captures on the iPad that were q...

Re: Eclipse Sequence Generator
All's well that ends - mostly- well. I managed to salvage some shots. Turns out I misjudged the exposure in totality - I didn't think to bracket whilst making modifications on the fly. And, for some reason I my saved shots were in monochrome. Operator error. but still ... eclipse corona_.jpg color c...

Re: Eclipse Sequence Generator
Well, auto expose failed. It set the exposure very high, reflecting I suspect the large proportion of black pixels. So, the image was blown out. I was able to quickly recreate t he sequence - thanks L-Kid - and off we went. All seemed to go nicely. Some great screen captures on my Ipad. The saved FI...

Re: Eclipse Sequence Generator
Well, I think I got it to work in auto exposure mode First, things that didn't work - Leaving the exposure setting blank Editing the exposure setting in the .scs file to AUTO Creating a sharpcap profile profile that has auto for exposure But, if created a .scs file and edited it to eliminate all exp...

Re: Eclipse Sequence Generator
Is there any way to enable auto exposure, or is it necessary at all.

collimation tool
Robin
The documentation for collimation says it is for Newtonians. So it won't work on an SCT, RC or refractor ?
If it is not too much trouble, can you explain why.
TIA

Re: Windows 11
I use a windows Surface Pro 2. It is a dated model, according to Msft. I found that my fingers were too fat to get good control of things like the histogram sliders. I also tried using a pen, but that too provided poor control. I always use a mouse, or the track pad on the Surface Pro 2 keyboard.
